Lines, Wrinkles, and Bags Under The Eyes Wrinkles around the eyes is something
that most people experience.
Wrinkles around the eyes is something
that most people experience. These wrinkles
are common because there are very few oil glands in
this area. These glands help keep the skin moisturized.
This is the area in our face that helps to show others
our emotions. There are tiny muscles in this area that
react to our feelings. They are constantly working.
There are two big 'don'ts' that you probably know about
and bear repeating. Smoking is very hard on areas where
there are small blood vessels. This restricts the blood
to the few oil glands around the eyes. What little oil
the body produces in this area is reduced by smoking. Sun
is also a leading cause of facial wrinkles. Sun damage
builds up over years of exposure.
Use eye creams. For daytime use pick one with a sunscreen
(SPF 15 or more). Remember to be care of fragrances as you
may be allergic. You may also react to the ingredients in the
cream so be willing to try several creams until you find one
that is right for you.
When removing make-up around the eyes wet thoroughly with remover
and gently dab the make-up off. Do not use a scrubbing motion or
a dragging motion to remove your make-up. Be gentle.
At night use eye creams that use anti-aging ingredients and
that have nourishing and hydrating compounds. Your dermatologist
and cosmetologist can help you learn about these ingredients.
Always be gentle in this area. When you are
unsure, check in with your doctor and don't
be afraid to demonstrate to them so they can
see what you are doing.
